Independence Day Blessing
I am afraid this Independence Day,
I am not as independent as I hope to be.
For I live in fear to finding a secure income source,
I fight daily to once again see.
I now must sacrifice and put to a short end,
My social life of seeing weekly those who are my friends.
But for where I lack wealth in your precious numerical measures,
No money is worth the support I have from friend and family pleasures.
For they are the ones who are in strong support of me.
I will return such favors to them,
And once again enjoy their company.
I will be there to hear their own plights,
And prove their inner spirit is their might.
I will be a reference to every single one of them.
To prove I am who I say I am,
Someone worthy of being a good friend.
If for some reason you took it upon yourself to be my enemy.
One day you will witness that to be a mistake, oh you will see.
I thrive best when I live through generosity.
I chose to love and care rather than allow anyone to suffer with animosity.
Some day you will regret ever saying no to me.
When I finally burst through successful, a ball of positive fiery energy.
For I am a kind and gentle soul,
A kindred spirit worth sharing life from young to old.
I am a shoulder to cry on,
A finder of an appropriate song.
Some one who you can definitely bet on,
Will be there for you in your time of need.
I sold my soul to god,
Made oaths and promises that I will never break.
I will always be an American,
I will always be positive, strong and proud.
I have no problem admitting that I am capable of making a mistake.
That is why they say, “To error is to be human.”
And human I shall always be, even to the very end.
I may live in fear of what unstable life I may not know,
And show grave concern of what our greedy future undo to us may bestow.
But there is no money, bankruptcy, crime or policy,
That will ever force me to ever stop being me.
I am your power of positive spirit and good friend.
More important than that, I am forever going to be American.
So go ahead and jack up the cost of living,
And not the common people’s pay check.
You will soon know hell has known no fury like a society scorn.
Your protective bubbles of life burst.
Now you have a real reason to feel vexed.
Just try not to learn the value of life,
At the point of where it is already too late.
So I feeling the pressures of today’s petty strife,
No clue what is in store for my future or fate.
But I have my circle of friends who are going to be there for me.
I am already wealth beyond measure, which brings me to smile for all to see.
I am afraid this Independence Day,
I am not as independent at I hope to be.
Considering where I have been,
Considering how much I have grown,
Knowing all my lessons in life,
And seeing now everyone who I now know.
I am already more independent that everything in this reality.
United We Stand, Divided We Fall!
